I am trying to go from using a VERY OLD win95 computer to a modern laptop for RS2332 communication to download/upload programs to my HURCO KM3P CNC Knee Mill. I currently use a software called "PC MAX" I am trying to use a USB to RS232 converter, and I can't get my modern laptop(windows vista) to open the com1 port. Are there any solutions out there?

We have a Hurco Hawk mill with Ultimax 3 V1.52 software. I don't know how to get it to cut a pocket inside an odd shape closed mill contour, other then rectangles (mill frame). The manual shows a menu under mill contour with cutter compensation left, right, pocket left, pocket right. The screen on our machine has left, right, PROFILE left, PROFILE right. The profile option causes the mill to cut the outline but does not clean out the inside of the pocket. Please advise.

You will have to go to Hurco service. I believe that you need to run DOS to communicate with that machine.for comment#2- you may need to purchase" ultipocket "upgrade to get "Pocket boundary" as a choice in the mill function.using "pocket boundary" will mill out the center and then mill the contour. • Page 1 (Original Post) •
