Fanuc OI Model B Turret fault

richag77 from Katanning West Australia -

The machine is a "Goodway GS200" with a Fanuc OI Model B controller and I have a rather difficult alarm on the machine now. The machine has a single, verticle 10 stn turret and was working fine. the machine was shutdown and when started the next day, an alarm prevented the machine from running. I have been in touch with the machine dealer for about 2 weeks now and am no further in finding a way to fix/clear the alarm

The alarm is "2042 Turret alarm" and it does not appear in any of the manuals that came with the machine.Machine is 3yrs old and the turret will not index with the manual index button. I have tried to do a "T1 search" procedure but the alarm remains. The dealer has no more advice to give me as we have checked out the Hydraulics, the proximity switch and the clamping/unclamping of the turret.

Has anyone had the same fault and found a way to fix it, or even has any more info on this alarm. Bye

Update:I have been able to get the machine working again by using a procedure sent to me by the machine dealer. The turret now knows what station it is at. But when I finish the job I am doing and turn it off it looses its turret setting again and must be put through the procedure again which can take 30mins each time.

There is no "low battery" error message displayed. Anyone have an idea what would cause the machine to continually forget its turret position? Bye

We finally got in a technician who determined that the problem was a flat battery, one that was not easily seen.I was told that it was the servo battery. It was very strange that there was no low battery alarm. The machine is working fine now.Bye
