Hi, Hope I'm at the right place. I'm hoping to find someone with Dynapath experience. I have a Delta 40M on a knee mill.
I have a manual machining background and have been monkeying about with this CNC machine for about 6 months without instruction. Self taught (???).
Today, while running a simple program for the first time it decided to run past a point where it should have plunged –Z (in X axis motion). I was slotting two disc brake rotors side by side. I ran the program through cutting air above the job and it ran fine. I then raised the table and machined the parts. It was fine. I flipped the job over to do the other side, reversed the Y axis (inverse) and started it off. It made a few cuts and then the table kept moving on the X axis after it should have stopped to make the next cut. I hit the stop button. I couldn’t get the table to move on X and it acted as though (I thought it had) hit the travel limit. It has not.
So the fault display tells me:
Emergency Stop
Loss of feedback or no motion detected on X axis
Enter reset to continue
Pic revision #10 10-18-95
Well, I have no idea what revision #10 is. I push reset and go to jog to reference the axes, when I try to jog X it moves a few thousandths of an inch and the switch (breaker) in the cabinet kicks out. Reset kicks it back in. I can jog Y and Z but it don’t like X. I reached underneath and turned the screw by hand to make sure it all moves OK and is off the limit.
The green ‘run’ lights are on on the Y and Z boards in the cabinet, but the red “Sur” light is on on the X board.
Anyone know what's going on with this?
Thanks in advance for any input.
Phil.
