I recently purchased a Plasma Cam cutting table and a Hypertherm Powermax 600 and I cannot get the plasma cam to work consistently. I have spent quite a bit of money and at least two weeks trying to trouble shoot and all I get from plasma cam is that I have a grounding issue. It has blown three fuses in the control box and one mother board on my computer. I have tested, grounded (5/8"x8' ground rod), even sent in my controller overnight and tried two other computers and I get the same problem. When I get into the diagnostic settings and push check L.E.D.'s it will sometimes make the gantry motor move up to two feet. That is usually when it blows a fuse but only 1/10 times. Also some light on the controller are on when that function is not being used. Any help at all would be very much appreciated I am very Frustrated.

I have purchased the cnc machine plasmacam. Does anyone know if there are courses you can do on how to learn to operate this complicating machine. I regret buying this machine!!. This company gives a folder & say's "all the information on running it is in there", what a load of crap. Im looking at maybe purchasing a different, more easy program for this machine. Can anyone help. Thanx. Nick..

I know your frustration, but really with a littile knowledge about plasma cutting and alot of free time it really does get easier. Make sure to read your plasma cutters manual and apply their numbers to your plasmacam settings. Torch hieght, speed, piercing lead in and time spent piercing. The gap at end of loop is important also. I recently learned that the arc voltage level is very important when deciding the thickness of material you plan to cut. It's only frustrating because of the amount of variables there are in order to get a clean cut. The plasma cutter that I purchased to use with my table is only a 30 amp cutter. The manual told me the optimal running p.s.i was 65 and that the cutting hieght could be anywhere around 1/8" to 1/16". The manual also gave me a gauge chart for speed when cutting. Like I siad there are so many variables that it all takes time to bring together for that perfect cut your looking for. Good luck!

Hypertherm has the parts you need to make your 600 work with the new plasma cam up grade part# 120964 shield cap OHMIC and part# 220403 fine cut shiled. We just purchased the parts and our machine works great.
