Deburing Holes

Noble (24.173.210.54) -

We are trying to debur the back side of a hole in a ring. Essentually the part is a ring that is an inch and a half or so in diameter and about .100 of an inch wide. There are two holes drilled all the way thorough it. The mandrel is a solide piece of metal the same diameter as the ID so the part slips over it. The holes are debured on one side by the machine, but the back side of the holes need it as well. Any suggestions on how to do this? Thanx.

You do not say if you are trying do deburr on the machine or manually. Also what machine are you using and what sive hole?

If drilling is being done on a mill or live tool lathe you can buy a back chamfer tool and interpolate the chamfer trough the hole.(you would need some clearance in the mandrel)

To deburr manually I use a set of deburring tools that have thin round carbide discs mounted on shanks through center of disc. They will deburr at angles up to 45 degrees.( Look up MSC pt.no.05753504)
