File StructureHello, I am interested in any feedback as to how to properly set up a file structure for cnc program files. IE:Option 1: Customer - Part - Status - Rev - Operation - Files Option 2: Status - Customer - Part - Rev - Operation - Files Option 3: Customer - Part - Rev - Operation - Status - Files The Status folder would either be active, proofing, archive, etc. Files would be moved from one status to the next as they are engineered and approved. I plan on using a DNC system to automate the transfer of the file from the server to the machine, so it has to be a smart folder naming system for the DNC software to use. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Our WIN-COM DNC Software allow you to define three folders on your DNC-PC. One folder for the files, receiving from CNC. Second folder for the files to be sent to CNC, & third for the files, which are yet to be proved on CNC. These three folders are for each CNC. The CNC user can access them from his CNC key-pad. You can get more info at our web site, digitech-engineers.com
You can also get automatic log file of all DNC transactions, along with date, time & file name with path. Hence whatever be your folder name, you get all details. You can configure one folder as MASTER, while other as SHOP. MASTER folder will only send the files to CNC. The SHOP folder will only receive the files from CNC.
