Turret Fault Alarm

Over the last 6 months, there was an intermittent alarm on our Hardinge Elite 8/51 lathe. We see the alarms, ”1172 Turret gear switch fault. The turret failed to shift gears in the time allowed” and “1163 Turret fault, Ref. required” at a frequency of once per month. Now the alarms are everyday and this morning it will not reset. Our machine is dead in the water. I have the Sauter 0.5.450.416 turret manual but I can’t find any reasons why the turret failed to change gears in the time allowed. As of this posting, I am going to check all the proximity switches to see if something may be out of timing. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Check all wiring to turret switches as the cable may be broken
