Mori seiki MH500 Y axis Brake fault

I have been working on a 5 axis MH500. Every time the machine does a pallet change ( m60 ) the y axis brake will come on. This is not normal for an automatic pallet change. The brake will then stay on while the axis is moving. There is no alarm, but we cannot find out what is telling it to come on. We have tried changing relays and checked for loose connections. Any-one seen this type of fault before? thanks

That brake is probably controlled by a bestact relay on a bestact relay board, usually labelled "BU1, BU2". If a diode has gone bad on that board it could cause unintended relays to fire. Also, those relays are prone to sticking.
