Check the physical location of the sub arm. If it's physically at the spindle side, you probably have a faulty / mis-adjusted proximity switch. You should be able to go to the "custom" page in MDI and step the ATC through its cycle.

***BE CAREFUL***

If you're not sure what you're doing, check your manual for a flow chart.

move the sub arm with the tool pot to the spindle side at the custom manual page, after that , lock the pot, u can refer to the manual book for more details.
