Thank author of this post/commentWe have a old VR40 Okuma machining center that is in great shape and we would like to utilize it in our facility. The problem is that the programs that we want to run are too large to fit in the limited memory space. We are attempting to use pick-feed CAM programs which are very large.

On some of our other non-Okuma machines, we have been able to trickle feed programs into the memory so the program size was not an issue. We have not been able to figure out how to do this on this machine.

I have contacted our local Okuma rep. trying to find a solution. He said we would need DNC-B option but Okuma is not supporting any upgrades on a 15 year old machine. We also looked into getting the "scheduled programming" option but Okuma would not do that either. We can get the program in the back bubble but we still couldn't run it.

Does anyone have any ideas on how we could get this problem solved?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Dean

Hi,

we are trying to drip-feed an okuma machine, it has a OSP700M control, The okuma dealer here said we need to purchase a very expensive DNC-B option to do it.We have succesfully sent programs to the machine but the memory is the limit. Do you know is there is another way to dripfeed the machine that does not need a big money spent?

please e-mail me is possible, I am working on this.

If I find a way I let you know.

Thank author of this post/commentokumas are very macro freindly if the problem is too much code you might want to think about writing it so there is simply less code
